Optimal Energy Management System of Isolated Multi-Microgrids with Local Energy Transactive Market with Indigenous PV-, Wind-, and Biomass-Based Resources

The availability of sustainable, efficient electricity access is critical for rural communities as it can facilitate economic development and improve the quality life residents. Isolated microgrids provide a solution electrification, they generate from local renewable energy sources operate independently central grid. Residential load scheduling also an important aspect management in isolated microgrids. However, effective microgrid’s resources essential ensuring reliability cost-effectiveness system. To cope with stochastic nature RERs, idea optimal system (EMS) transactive market (LETM) multi-microgrid proposed this work. Nature-inspired algorithms such JAYA (Sanskrit word meaning victory) teaching–learning based optimization algorithm (TLBO) get stuck optima, thus reducing effectiveness EMS. For purpose, modified hybrid version TLBO algorithm, namely, learning-based (MJLBO), prosumers sell their surplus power or buy to meet demand LETM enabling higher serving compared single microgrid multi-objectives, resulting reduced bill, increased revenue, peak-average ratio, user discomfort. evaluated against three other TLBO, JAYA, (JLBO). result work shows that MJLBO outperforms achieving best numerical value all objectives. simulation results validate achieves peak-to-average ratio (PAR) reduction 65.38% while there PAR 51.4%, 52.53%, 51.2% JLBO, unscheduled load.
